CEO Bob Grubb and VP Scott Florez receive awards from the American Land Title Association for their work on ALTA Best Practices
LONGMONT, Colo.—Alliant National Title Insurance Company, a unique title insurance underwriter that partners with Independent Agents to improve their competitive position in the marketplace, announces that CEO Robert J. Grubb and Scott Florez, Vice President of Agent Quality Assurance, have each received recognition from the American Land Title Association (ALTA) for their work on Title Insurance and Settlement Company Best Practices Framework.
Founded in 1907 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., ALTA is the national trade association and voice of the abstract and title insurance industry, which protects property owners and lenders from problems in title that would cause the property to lose all or part of its value. The American land title system is widely regarded as the fastest, most efficient and most accurate title transfer system in the world. ALTA members search, review and insure land titles to protect home buyers and mortgage lenders who invest in real estate.
Both Grubb and Florez were presented with a crystal house with the inscription: "In great appreciation for your efforts in the formation of the ALTA Title Insurance and Settlement Company Best Practices." The ALTA Board of Governors gave the same recognition to approximately 30 people who contributed to the project.
As a member of the Executive Committee of the Underwriter Section, and as one of the Executive Committee liaisons to the Internal Audit Committee, Grubb was recognized for his work on:
- “ALTA Best Practices Framework: Title and Settlement Company Best Practices”
- “ALTA Best Practices Framework: Certification Package”
- “ALTA Best Practices Framework: Assessment Procedures”
Florez is an ALTA Internal Audit Committee member, and was recognized for his contribution to “ALTA Best Practices Framework: Assessment Procedures.” He has been with Alliant National Title Insurance since 2011. Among other responsibilities, Florez ensures that the company’s field auditors are properly trained on each state’s statutory and regulatory requirements for audit purposes.
“It was a privilege and an honor to serve both within the Alliant National organization and on behalf of the ALTA,” says Florez. “The ALTA Best Practices Framework was developed to assist lenders in satisfying their responsibility to manage third party vendors and provide title and settlement companies with a set of best practices which if followed will help them satisfy lenders’ needs.”
Grubb has been active in advocating for improvements in how the industry protects consumers. He is one of the founders of Alliant National Title Insurance Company, whose mission is to protect property owners’ investment by providing secure title insurance delivered by the finest Independent Agents available.
"As liaison to the Internal Audit Committee,” says Grubb, “I can attest that they had a very big task—the professionals in the group were top flight, and they did the very detailed and hard work of thinking though just how an auditor would have to assess compliance to each aspect of each Best Practice. Scott was a major contributor to this effort, as reported to me by the committee chair.”
“We are dedicated to supporting the mission of ALTA,” says Alliant National Title Insurance Company President, Dave Ginger. “ALTA seeks to guide its membership on best practices to protect consumers, promote quality service, provide for ongoing employee training, and meet legal and market requirements. These practices are voluntary and designed to help members illustrate to consumers and clients the industry’s professionalism and best practices to help ensure a positive and compliant real estate settlement experience.”
